Compare a stool's base construction separately from its movement. Wood legs can support a swivel seat, and a metal frame is not necessarily height-adjustable. First confirm seat height, then the footprint at the floor, then the room needed for the seat and back to move. No base type is automatically the most stable or best for every floor.

These are different seat heights, not interchangeable versions for one surface. Start with the stool height and island-fit guide before choosing a base. A product's overall width does not necessarily identify its widest floor contact or the space occupied during rotation.
Wood legs and swivel are compatible features
D388-230 lists overall dimensions of 19.25 inches wide by 20.38 inches deep by 43.38 inches high. Its gray-wash wood frame and gray polyester seat are distinct from the metal footrest visible in the photo. The listed 360-degree swivel describes the seat's movement; it does not give the clearance needed around the back.
Before placing two beside each other, check the floor-level leg spread and the back's turning path. Do not assume that wood legs mean a stationary seat or that the photographed spacing is suitable for your counter.
A pedestal has its own footprint
D120-530 lists an overall size of 20.5 inches wide by 21 inches deep by 48 inches high. That overall height is not a confirmed maximum seat height. The description identifies a weighted base, but it does not supply a base diameter or a comparative stability test. Ask for the actual diameter and complete adjustment range instead of converting the listed 27-inch seat figure into an invented range.
Mark the confirmed base outline on the floor. Then account for the seated person, turning back and access to the adjustment control. A small-looking pedestal in a photograph does not establish a smaller usable seating zone.
A sled-style frame is another metal-base option
The PCD373-230 photo shows two long lower rails and a crossbar footrest. Its listing specifies 18.88 by 21.88 by 39 inches overall and a 28.38-inch seat. It does not describe a swivel or lift mechanism. Check how the rails meet your floor and whether a rug edge would interrupt their support; follow the product's assembly and floor-protection instructions.
Keep base fit and footrest fit as separate checks

- Confirm the exact model, seat height and included quantity.
- Obtain the leg spread, rail footprint or pedestal diameter.
- Allow movement space beyond the stationary base.
- Check assembly, floor protectors and the supplied use instructions.
- Stop using a loose or damaged stool and seek the appropriate assembly or service guidance.
