Can You Use Different End Tables on Each Side of a Sofa?
Yes: two different end tables can serve opposite ends of one sofa. Give each side a useful job, check each table against its adjacent seat, and repeat a deliberate visual detail such as a dark base or brown finish. Matching every material is optional; fitting the room and keeping both surfaces reachable is not. The examples below are individual end tables, not a bundled pair.
Assign a job to each sofa end
One end may need a cabinet for items you want to put away; the other may need an open-profile surface beside a doorway. Write down what each person actually places there: a drink, remote, book or lamp. Then mark nearby doors, curtains, outlets and walking routes. A symmetrical sofa does not necessarily have symmetrical available space.

The T468-3 has a black/brown cabinet body and two mesh-front doors. That makes door access part of its placement decision. Check the space in front of the cabinet, not only the rectangle occupied by its feet. The listing does not provide internal storage dimensions or a measured door-swing requirement, so neither can be promised from the outside dimensions.
Compare the two tables as separate purchases
| Detail | T468-3 rectangular cabinet table | T502-6 round glass table |
|---|---|---|
| Included quantity | One end table | One end table |
| Listed overall size | Approximately 24 W x 26 D x 25 H inches | Approximately 24 W x 24 D x 24.25 H inches |
| Visible relationship | Brown top with dark cabinet and mesh-front doors | Brown rim with glass center and dark open base |
| Placement question | Can the doors open and contents be reached? | Does the round edge leave a workable route beside the seat? |
| Do not infer | Internal cabinet capacity from overall width | Usable glass-center diameter from the overall 24-inch width |
The listed heights differ by 0.75 inch. That small numerical difference does not establish that either suits your sofa: measure each arm, sit in each end seat and check the actual reach. A tall arm, reclining motion or a lamp base can change the decision independently of the other side.

Repeat one visual detail, not every feature
These examples share brown and dark elements while differing in shape, enclosure and tabletop material. That gives you a specific connection to assess in your own room. It is not a claim that the brown finishes are identical. Look at product photos alongside your sofa, floor and existing furniture, remembering that lighting and screens can change perceived color.
If the room already contains many contrasting finishes, repeating a simple accessory on both tables can make the arrangement easier to read. Keep enough clear surface for daily use. Identical lamps are optional, and their base size, cord route and shade clearance still need separate checks on each table.
Mock up both ends before ordering
- Mark a 24-by-26-inch rectangle for T468-3 and a 24-inch-diameter circle for T502-6 in their proposed positions.
- Check whether each sofa seat remains easy to enter and leave. Include any reclining or moving components in the test.
- Simulate reaching for a cup while seated. Do not place fragile objects on an unstable mock-up.
- Reserve additional space for cabinet access, cords and nearby doors; the floor shapes alone do not include these allowances.
- Confirm the included quantity on both product pages. Buying one of each means two separate tables, not a coordinated set supplied under one listing.
For the broader selection sequence, use the coffee and end table buying guide. Then check end-table height and sofa-arm reach. If the furniture sits between two seats rather than at opposite sofa ends, our shared side-table guide addresses that different layout.
